What the badge states
The badge states one thing: on the date it shows, the website named on it passed the checks Liaison runs from outside, and Liaison re-checks it every week. Its page at liaison.vision/verify/<your domain> lists the checks that passed.
The badge is not a certification, a label, an audit or a guarantee. Liaison only sees what anyone can see from outside the website. It does not see how you store data, your staff, your internal systems or your suppliers. A website can pass every check and still be broken into.
The checks
You agree that Liaison checks the domain you gave, once a week (daily while it isn’t passing), from a server Liaison operates. The checks read what a visitor’s browser or a DNS lookup would see: web pages and their headers, a short list of file paths, DNS records, the certificate, and whether a few common database and remote-desktop ports answer. Liaison never logs in, submits forms, sends attack payloads or tries to break anything.
You may ask only for a domain you control, and you must prove it: confirm an email address at that domain, or publish the DNS record or file Liaison gives you.
Using the badge
- Show it only on the website named on it, using the code Liaison emails you, so it stays linked to its page.
- Don’t change it, copy it as a file, or put it on another website.
- Don’t describe it as a certification or a guarantee, or as Liaison vouching for your business, in the badge’s surroundings or anywhere else.
When the badge changes or ends
- If your website stops passing, Liaison emails you. After three failed checks in a row the badge shows “lapsed” by itself, and it turns green again once the site passes.
- If the proof that the domain is yours disappears, the badge is withdrawn and the checks stop.
- Liaison can withdraw a badge at any time, for example if the website is used for fraud or the badge is misused. Its page then says it was withdrawn.
- You can take the badge off your website whenever you want. You don’t need to ask Liaison or tell it. The weekly checks carry on until you ask Liaison to stop, as described next.
- You can stop at any time by replying to one of the badge’s emails or writing to studio@liaison.vision. The checks stop and the badge is withdrawn. Remove the code from your website when you stop.
Liability
The badge and its checks are provided free and as they are. Liaison does its best to run the checks correctly, but they can miss problems or report one that isn’t there. To the extent the law allows, Nashboard Analytics SL is not liable for a security incident at your business or its clients, or for decisions anyone takes because of the badge. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law gives you and that cannot be waived.
